Gouland begins operating from Zona Franca Libertad
The Brazilian heavy-duty diesel engine parts company set up its base in Uruguay and is already trading from the free zone.
Gouland S.A. operates from a 200 m² warehouse in Zona Franca Libertad, on Route 1, 50 kilometres from Montevideo. The company, backed by Brazilian capital, imports spare parts for heavy-duty diesel engines and redistributes them from Uruguay.
The process began in August 2025 with the signing of the free zone user contract. In January 2026 it presented its business plan to the free zones authority. In April the first shipment arrived from Brazil, with 33 part references, and since June the warehouse has been running with its own staff.
Kaizen International supported the landing from end to end: incorporating the company, the contract with the zone operator, opening the bank account, the business plan and the costing system Gouland uses to set its prices. The Brazilian side of the analysis was handled together with the Oliveira Filho firm.
With the operation under way, Gouland is taking on its second stage: setting export prices and studying, route by route, the treatment each product receives in destination markets.
